Sid Meier's Pirates! is an action-adventure strategy game, a remake of the 1987 game of the same name.
The game is set in an open world around the Caribbean islands. The gameplay is based on sailing among the islands, cities, and colonies. Every map tip provides great opportunities for both economic issues and fights. You can attack ships and capture cities; some battles include a mini-game where you have to fight with a pirate sword-fighter. Completing different quests, you will gain diplomacy points of one of the game factions. This will reveal additional options, such as dancing with a governor's daughter at a ball.
